October 15, 2011 Glass Bottom Boat Tour and Cookout at John Pennekmap State Park in Key Largo. The park features fishing, swimming and a visitor center with a 30,000 gallon saltwater aquarium and nature exhibits. Visit the coral reef on a glass bottom boat or, for the more adventurous, snorkeling is also available. This is a day trip for dads and kids. Cost: TBD.

November 11-13, 2011 Fall Campout at Indian Hammock with an optional extra night of camping on Thursday. An Adventure Guides tradition. Events include swimming, volleyball and archery, among others. Begin working on your soapbox derby car to represent the Nation at the State Pow Wow. This is a weekend event (with optional extra night of camping on Thursday, November 10) for dads and kids. Cost: TBD.

December 3, 2011 56th Hollywood Beach Candy Cane Parade. This year’s theme is Candy Land! Presented by City of Hollywood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department and the Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, marching in this event is another mainstay in the Adventure Guides calendar. Dads get together prior to the parade to build the float. This is a family event (moms, dads and kids). Cost: FREE.

January 27-29, 2012 Winter Campout at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Cabin camping at its finest right here in our own back yard! Features air-conditioned cabins and a fully equipped mess hall as well a scenic bike path along the Intracoastal Waterway. Bring your bathing suits and plenty of sunscreen! The “war games” for this trip will be the traditional Pinewood Derby competition. This event is for dads and kids and is limited to the first 64 campers who register. Cost: TBD.

February 25, 2012 Picnic at Markam Park. Check out the R/C planes or boats, or just relax in the shade, this relaxing day event should bring plenty of fun for a day of adventure. This is a day event for dads and kids. Cost: TBD.

March 2012 State Pow Wow – Site TBD. We’ll tell you when they tell us!

April 20-21, 2012 The Overnight Adventure at Miami Seaquarium.^® Visit the park after hours and discover the nighttime behaviors of the animals. Educational, interactive and fun overnight camping in an air conditioned classroom. Includes a science presentation, animal interactions, flashlight hike around the park, games and art projects. This is a dads and kids event and is limited to the first 64 campers. Cost: $55 per person.

May 19, 2012 Lion Country Safari. Enjoy the drive-through safari and the walk-through theme park at this perennial South Florida Favorite. This is a day event for dads and kids (with optional camping at the KOA where you can hear the lions roar throughout the night! Cost: TBD.

June 2, 2012 Miccosukee Nation Annual Beach Bash. Cookout, sand castle building and games – and a few surprises thrown in! This is a family event (moms, dads and kids). Cost: FREE.
